Yes, the cost of care is high, but there are a lot of overheads involved. Staff, accommodation, maintenance. Those costs quickly add up. You want properly qualified staff on hand. Same sort of costs down here. I would guess it costs more to run a care home than it does to run a hotel, and that probably puts it into perspective.
